Hopes community garden will bloom

WASTE ground in a disadvantaged area of Cork city is set to be transformed into a community garden where people will be taught how to grow vegetables under the guidance of professional horticulturists.

Hopes community garden will bloom

Along with promoting healthy eating, it is hoped the initiative, funded by Safefood and Cork City Council, will help to tackle anti-social behaviour and give people a sense of ownership of the land.

Located on Harbour View Road in Knocknaheeny, the community garden will grow fresh wholesome food for the community, and provide horticultural and other training to people who want to avail of it.
