FIANNA Fáil leader Micheál Martin will stick with his plans to purge older senators and run younger candidates in their place in the Seanad elections.

Mr Martin met with the outgoing FF senators to reiterate the need for a “radical approach” in the elections.

FF held 24 seats when the outgoing Seanad was dissolved, and believes it can at best retain 12 of those.
