Cllr defends €5k expenses question

A COUNCILLOR has defended asking a city manager questions about a 4,700 expenses limit — which cost an estimated €5,300 to answer.

Sinn Féin Cllr Chris O’Leary said he was shocked by the amount but said the information should be published online.

“If the system was open and transparent, I wouldn’t have had to ask the questions in the first place,” he said.
