SF: Labour will cave in to FG’s demands
With Labour leader Eamon Gilmore facing opposition from some in his own party about going into coalition with Enda Kenny after denouncing FG’s “Tory agenda” during an often bitter election campaign, the greatly enlarged left-wing parties in the Dáil added to the pressure.
Sinn Féin’s finance spokesman Pearse Doherty warned Labour was ready to give ground on key election promises not to allow cuts in child allowances and lessening the impact of the universal social charge.
