Lough Derg housing plan queried by council

A MAJOR housing development to be located just minutes from the shores of Lough Derg has come under scrutiny from North Tipperary County Council.

The council has requested further information from developers intent on constructing a major development on the edge of the picturesque village of Portroe nestled between the Arra mountains and Lough Derg, one of the country’s main tourist attractions.

Lough Derg Portroe Developments Ltd is seeking planning permission to build 29 houses on a site along the road leading from the village to the popular lakeside harbour of Garrykennedy, just two miles away.
