GREEN Party leader John Gormley has made a last-ditch plea for voters not to punish him and his colleagues for making the tough decisions while in government.

He said its former ministers could have taken the easy option and retired from politics but instead opted to contest the election because they believed in the party’s policies.

He said the Green Party movement would not go away regardless of how badly the votes go in today’s ballot.
