Man on trial for abusing daughters

A PENSIONER has been sent forward for trial on 72 charges of sexually abusing seven of his daughters.

The 72-year-old man, who cannot be named, was sent forward for trial to the Central Criminal Court when he appeared before Clifden District Court in Co Galway yesterday.

The man, who has been remanded on continuing bail, is charged with a total of 72 charges of rape, indecent assault, buggery and sexual assault on dates between 1981 and 1995.
