FINE GAEL leader Enda Kenny has pledged he will not seek a second term in office if he fails in the job of Taoiseach.

He refused to rule out leading a minority government and would not say whether he would prefer the support of Independents or the Labour Party if his party falls short of an overall majority.

In his final press conference ahead of tomorrow’s election Mr Kenny pledged to “hit the ground running” when Fine Gael takes office, as expected, next week.
