THE brother of an Irish mother missing for over a decade says he believes police gave up on his sister because she was middle-aged.

Dubliner Ellen Coss Brown was 51 when she vanished after visiting her sister Bertha in Manchester in England in 1999.

Tonight’s TV3 documentary, Ireland’s Missing Mums, reveals Ms Coss’s case fell between two police jurisdictions after she disappeared on her way to catch a ferry in Holyhead over 11 years ago, as responsibility for her case was never fully established.
