FINE GAEL leader Enda Kenny has told Cork supporters that the party was looking towards the centenary of the 1916 Rising and the re-branding of Ireland as the “best small country in the world”.

Speaking at the packed Fine Gael fundraising lunch, Mr Kenny restated his party’s commitment to jobstackling emigration and developing a “pro-jobs, pro-enterprise culture”.

“I want by 2016, the centenary of the rising of those who rebelled and fought and died when our country took its first faltering steps to economic sovereignty and independence, to have in our country a situation where we can demonstrate we are the best small country in the world in which to do business, to rear a family and grow old with a sense of dignity.”
