Student nurses threaten to strike

THE union representing 6,000 student nurses has confirmed they will begin strikes from early March if pay cuts for its members are not reversed.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) will hold a protest rally in Dublin today in what it says is the second phase of its campaign to reverse the cuts to pre-registration nurses and midwives.

This afternoon a delegation will meet with some of the political parties.
