FIANNA Fáil deputy leader Mary Hanafin has said she intends to keep her ministerial severance pay.

Earlier this week, party leader Micheál Martin said he would be accepting the €88,000 in “parachute” payments he is due over the next two years to compensate him for the loss of his ministerial salary.

This is despite the fact he will continue to earn his €92,000 TD’s salary if re-elected to the Dáil.
