AS three major players in Limerick’s ongoing gang feud commenced long prison sentences in recent days following prosecutions at the Special Criminal Court and Limerick Circuit Court, a fourth gang figure left prison in England after serving five-and-a-half years for a gun offence.

On Friday last, Ger Dundon, 23, and David McCormack 26, who are linked to the McCarthy- Dundon gang, were jailed in Dublin for five years for pleading guilty at the Special Criminal Court to committing violent disorder.

On the same day, Brian Collopy, 38, who is associated with the rival Keane-Collopy gang, was handed down an eight-year sentence at Limerick Circuit Court after he was found guilty of trying to pervert the course of justice by intimidating a witness.
