Martin’s debate plan puts Kenny on the ropes

As he inherited a crumbling party on Wednesday, the former foreign affairs minister knew he needed a distraction so that the political focus would shift beyond Fianna Fáil’s central role in the economic collapse.

He created that distraction quite brilliantly in his short acceptance speech after being elected Fianna Fáil leader.
