AER Lingus management last night revealed details of the rosters at the centre of its dispute with its cabin crew. It said the average working day in the new 28-day rosters introduced on January 17 was five hours and 48 minutes.

It said the longest working day was 11 hours and 55 minutes but shifts of that length accounted for significantly less than 1% of the rosters. It said the shortest shift was 2 hours and 20 minutes.

It also rejected trade union complaints that, under the new rosters, cabin crews’ duties could be changed by three hours on the day of duty.
