€3k to crush FitzPatrick’s car on election day

ONE lucky punter has won the right to destroy Seán FitzPatrick’s repossessed BMW on the same day as the electorate is expected to do the same to the Fianna Fáil/Greens coalition.

The company behind the high-profile public auction of the disgraced banker’s repossessed car, National Recycling, has confirmed it is considering scrapping the 3 series ‘92-registration vehicle on election day.

Bids for the right to press the scrap machine button to destroy the car closed yesterday afternoon, with a winning offer of €3,150 — lower than a €5,200 bid withdrawn at the weekend — announced.
