DPP gets file over alleged plot to kill cartoonist

GARDAÍ have submitted a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) in connection with the alleged plot to murder Swedish cartoonist Lars Vilks.

Investigators are recommending a Muslim man be charged with engaging in terrorist activities under the Terrorist Offences Act 2005.

It is understood that if the DPP gives the green light, the charges will be the first to be taken under this legislation.
