No HSE report on CUH charity probe

THE Oireachtas public accounts committee has formally criticised the Health Service Executive for its failure to produce the findings of an internal investigation into how charity money was spent at a leading hospital.

In a letter sent to HSE chief executive Cathal Magee on December 10, the public accounts committee chairman Bernard Allen warned the cross-party group is “unsatisfied” with the apparent lack of transparency in the Cork University Hospital Foundation inquiry.

The investigation is specifically examining financial issues at the charity which was given responsibility for ensuring the donated money was spent on what patients wished.
