THE Greens have opted to stand back and allow Fianna Fáil decide Taoiseach Brian Cowen’s fate.

Despite twice expressing serious concerns last week about undisclosed contacts between Mr Cowen and former Anglo boss Sean FitzPatrick, the Greens have decided to take a hands-off approach.

A party statement last night said: “The Green Party has stood back to allow Fianna Fáil to order its own affairs. We look forward to an early and definitive resolution.”
