Labour criticised over ‘ill-advised’ no-confidence motion
Fine Gael said rather than putting the coalition under pressure the move was badly timed and it provided Fianna Fáil with an opportunity to regroup.
“When Fianna Fáil is in turmoil it has been offered a chance to unite. Given that independent deputies Michael Lowry and Jackie Healy-Rae and the Greens reiterated their support for the passage of the Finance Bill, this motion is highly unlikely to succeed,” a party spokesman said.
