Ryan wants to share St Patrick’s day duties

CALLS by the Greens for opposition leaders to be included in the St Patrick’s Day ministerial world tour were ridiculed by Labour last night.

Energy Minister Eamon Ryan suggested the idea if the national holiday fell in the general election campaign.

He said Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny could visit Germany where his sister party is in power and Labour’s Eamon Gilmore could travel to meet the socialist government in Spain, with the President included in the White House trip.
