Farmer dies in crash

A DAIRY farmer who celebrated his 80th birthday during the Christmas holiday died in a single-vehicle road accident yesterday.

Paddy Joe McGoldrick, from Ballintogher, Co Sligo, was driving at Slish Wood on a frosty road shortly after 8am when his car suddenly swerved into a ditch. His wife Mary suffered minor injuries.

Motorcyclist Martin Devaney, 32, of Ballina, died near Dromore West on Thursday evening.
