‘No further information’ on Harney’s whereabouts

THE Department of Health yesterday admitted it had “no further information” as to the whereabouts of Minister Mary Harney and her continuing silence on the record overcrowding in hospitals.

While the number of people waiting on trolleys in emergency & departments eased a little yesterday, almost 500 people were still counted by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) as being without beds.

Labour Party spokeswoman on health Jan O’Sullivan said it was “astounding” that Ms Harney had remained silent on the crisis.
