Arson victim stages hunger strike protest at Garda station

GARDAÍ yesterday moved a Transit van from the grounds of Roxboro Garda Station after its owner occupied it to stage a hunger strike.

Unemployed John Keane said he is staging his protest to get re-housed following an arson attack on New Year’s Eve in which his house in Southill was destroyed.

The van was brought by gardaí to Roxboro Road station as part of the investigation into the fire and another attack on a neighbouring house.
