Rabbitte predicts a long slog for new government to rebuild economy

THE next government will still be grappling with the effects of the economic crisis at the end of its five-year term, Labour justice spokesman Pat Rabbitte has said.

Labour and Fine Gael are expected to form a coalition after the election.

Speaking of the previous election in 2007, Mr Rabbitte said: “Historians have commented that it is the first time that Fianna Fáil were returned to clean up their own mess.
