FG misrepresented Labour’s tax policy, claims Rabbitte

FINE GAEL “did a reasonable job” of misrepresenting Labour’s tax policies during the budget debate, Labour justice spokesman Pat Rabbitte has said.

His comments indicate the divisive battle for seats that will take place between Fine Gael and Labour in the election, though the parties are likely to be coalition partners afterwards.

In an interview with the Irish Examiner, Mr Rabbitte played down suggestions that Labour leader Eamon Gilmore’s membership of Official Sinn Féin in his youth would be used as a smear tactic against him in the campaign.
