MOST local authorities expect it will be next week — at the earliest — before normal water supply is fully restored around the country.

In some parts of the country, people have been without water for nearly a week now whereas elsewhere, water flow is being restricted due to critically low levels of water in reservoirs. In Kildare, officials say, water demand is still seven million litres a day above production capacity.

Local authorities have also extended their water supply points across urban and rural areas.
