TG4 to profile TK Whitaker in special documentary

HE is one of the most respected and admired figures in Irish life, a public servant who was instrumental in helping Ireland to throw off its shackles and embrace the wider world.

It is testament to his legacy that TK Whitaker, former secretary general of the Department of Finance in the 1950s and 1960s and much more besides, is still held up as the exemplar of public service by modern-day politicians.

Mr Whitaker, now in his 90s, will be profiled in a TG4 documentary on December 27 which features a series of interviews, entitled “Seribhiseach an Stait”.
