TDs with eye on FF helm urged to come clean

CONOR LENIHAN has effectively told his brother, Finance Minister Brian Lenihan, to put up or shut up over his ambitions to lead Fianna Fáil.

Junior minister Conor said yesterday that none of the four senior cabinet figures currently being touted for the leadership of the party would get it if they waited until after the election.

He suggested if they really wanted the job, they would have to seek it now — essentially meaning a heave against Taoiseach Brian Cowen, who insists he will lead the party into the election.
