A MAN in his 40s was shot yesterday as he sat in his car in a lay-by.

A gunman was driven to the scene of the attack on the Naul Road, north Dublin, and jumped from the passenger side to open fire.

Gardaí said the hitman was wearing a high visibility jacket with his face covered by an ice hockey mask or visor.

The victim was hit in the arm and taken to Beaumont Hospital where his injuries were described as not life-threatening.

Detectives said the attacker was about 5ft 10in and of normal build.
