Woman guilty of deception has sentencing deferred

Pamela Hickey, 37, from Ashford, Patrickswell, Co Limerick, had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of obtaining a service by deception on dates in 2004 and 2005.

She dishonestly furnished Monarch Airlines with false information when chartering flights between Gatwick and Shannon in September 2004 and January 2005.

She was also charged in connection with a forged bank document dated January 14, 2005.

Brian McInerney BL, told Limerick Circuit Court yesterday — where Hickey was due to be sentenced — that she had been advised by her doctor she was not well enough to attend. A medical certificate was presented to the court.

Judge Carroll Moran adjourned the case to May 17 next.
