NAMA chief executive Brendan McDonagh has a duty to make an official complaint to relevant authorities, if he has information banks misled the agency about property loans, a Fianna Fáil TD said.

Cork South Central TD Michael McGrath wrote to Mr McDonagh following a recent meeting of the Dáil’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in which the NAMA boss said he did not disagree with claims that banks had given false information.

In a letter dated November 25, a week after Mr McGrath first raised the issue, he told Mr McDonagh:
