Pharmaceutical world event

IRELAND is to host a world pharmaceutical congress in 2013, worth as much as €10 million to the national economy.

The event, staged by the Convention Centre Dublin and Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland, is expected to bring 3,000 delegates to the capital.

PSI registrar and chief executive Dr Ambrose McLoughlin said Health Minister Mary Harney helped secure the event, which was previously held in Ireland in 1975.
