STUDENTS from all Cork city colleges and other parts of the country are believed to have been involved in antisocial behaviour at so-called “Christmas Day” festivities which resulted in more than a dozen arrests on Thursday night.

The charity event took place in Bishopstown, where the drunken antics of students eventually ended in the arrests, all of which were alcohol related.

The event was previously run by the Cork Institute of Technology (CIT), but the college has not been involved since 2007, following a number of complaints about bad behaviour.
