FINE GAEL leader Enda Kenny has refused to say whether his party will support or abstain from voting on the budget in the national interest.

Pressure is building on the party to adopt either course of action so that the budget would be guaranteed to pass and further political and economic turmoil would be prevented.

But while Fine Gael insists it will act “in the national interest” it is fearful of being associated with the budget with a general election looming.
