Cowen: We need to go back to go forward

THE country needs to go into reverse before it can move forwards again, Brian Cowen last night claimed.

Unveiling the Government’s widely leaked four-year plan for economic recovery, the Taoiseach said the measures were stark but fair.

“We need to take some steps back to go forward again,” Mr Cowen said as he was flanked by Green Party leader John Gormley who announced he would collapse the Government after the budget.
