A CAMPAIGN calling on men to help end violence against women began with a moment’s silence for the communities in Cork and Limerick affected by the deaths last week of four children and three adults.

Ireland’s first White Ribbon Campaign was launched in the Mansion House in Dublin by The Other Half, a new alliance of three national organisations — SAFE Ireland; Rape Crisis Network Ireland (RCNI) and the Men’s Development Network.

SAFE Ireland director Sharon O’Halloran said they mourned with the communities in Cork and Limerick and did not know how they carried such a great burden.
