Fine Gael torn: Facilitate budget or press for election

FINE GAEL remains torn about whether to facilitate a budget introduced by the Government or press for an immediate general election.

The party’s front bench met yesterday morning and this was followed by a three-hour gathering of its parliamentary party.

The parliamentary party will meet again this afternoon for its scheduled weekly meeting and it is expected a clearer picture of its intentions will emerge afterwards.
