CORK County Council officials are looking at proposals to extend the operating hours of Ireland’s only cable car.

A senior council official said yesterday they were also looking at the possibility of adding toilets and waiting rooms next to the cable car at Dursey Island.

The official said at present just one person operates the cable car, opened in 1969 by then Taoiseach Jack Lynch.
