Attempted murder prisoners among 409 on run

THERE are 409 prisoners currently on the run, the Minister for Justice has admitted, including 50 people wanted for attempted murder, assault and harassment.

The 409 prisoners also include 31 people serving time for weapons and explosive offences, 41 convicted for dangerous or negligent acts and 58 on public order offences.

The figure also includes 30-year-old convicted drug dealer Jeffrey Finnegan from Finglas, who is now understood to be living in Spain, and who was an associate of murdered gangland figure John Daly.
