AN award of €176,000 was made at the High Court in Cork yesterday to a man who was knocked down crossing the road to his home in the city.

John Kelleher, 39, of 32 Silverheights Drive, Mayfield, Cork, was found to be 20% responsible for the accident by failing to see the defendant’s car coming.

Mr Justice John McMenamin made a finding of 80% liability against the driver of the car, Jaroslaw, Dabrowski of 73 Ashmount Court, Mayfield, Cork.
