At-risk groups told to get jab amid swine flu warning

MEDICAL experts have warned that swine flu will be the worst strain of the flu virus this winter as the seasonal vaccination campaign was launched.

The HSE urged at-risk groups such as mothers- to-be and older people to get the single injection to protect against three types of the illness.

Brenda Corcoran, of the HSE national immunisation office, warned that swine flu would be the dominant strain over the next few months.
