Bomb disposal team deployed to Royal College of Surgeons

AN army bomb disposal team was deployed to the Royal College of Surgeons on St Stephen’s Green at 12.30pm yesterday after an internal audit of their lab found an unstable chemical had degraded.

Following an examination of the chemical by the Army Team it was deemed unsafe to transport and made safe by a controlled explosion on nearby waste ground.

The Army Bomb Disposal team arrived on scene at 12.30pm and the scene was declared safe at 2.30pm.
