The man who famously abolished the Fianna Fáil tent could now lose his job over a booze up in Galway.

We could have seen this coming two years ago. On the spring morning he was chosen as the seventh leader of Fianna Fáil, Mr Cowen pledged he would “reshape” and “tighten up” on his renowned gregarious lifestyle.
