An Post worker suspected of stealing cash from letters

AN POST officials are appealing for anybody who has had their mail tampered with, or who hasn’t receive expected cash through the post to contact them after an employee was arrested on suspicion of theft from a major sorting office.

The man, believed to be in his 20s, was working at the company’s mail centre in Little Island.

The company’s internal investigation team called in gardaí after they became suspicious of a worker there. The team was called in after An Post received complaints that money had gone missing from envelopes, or that envelopes appeared to have been opened.
