€100m Kerry investment

A €100 MILLION investment has been announced for north Kerry by EirGrid, the national electricity operator.

The investment will involve the building of two electrical substations in the Tarbert and Listowel areas and a new transmission circuit to connect with a windfarm.

It’s all part of a large-scale energy programme for north Kerry, which also includes the proposed development of the Shannon LNG (liquid natural gas) facility and the new Endessa gas-fired power station, at Tarbert, on the Shannon Estuary
