IRELAND had a slightly better than average summer in 2010, according to the weather summary compiled by Met Éireann.

Overall, even though August was relatively cool, average air temperatures for the season were over half a degree higher than normal.

A relatively wet July meant rainfall totals for the whole summer were near normal everywhere. However, it was unevenly distributed throughout.
