Baby born on side of N11

A WEXFORD-MAN delivered his baby on the hard shoulder of the N11 on Monday night.

PJ O’Brien and his wife, Clodagh, from Kilanerin in north Wexford were rushing to Wexford General Hospital after Clodagh went into labour.

PJ knew he had to pull in because his daughter was ready to appear.

PJ said he was on the phone to the maternity unit in Wexford General to talk him through the birth.

At 10.38pm, Aoibheann was born safe and well.
