YOUNG road users are more likely to die on the weekends, at night or in the early hours of the morning.

The figures from the Road Safety Authority (RSA) come after a review of 11 years of road deaths, including the types, times and months.

The research obtained by the Irish Examiner shows just over 25% of young road user deaths occurred on Sundays and 21% on Saturdays.
