100 psychiatric nursing posts yet to be allocated

A REVIEW of where 100 psychiatric nursing posts will be appointed is “ongoing” but is expected to be completed in the coming weeks, according to the HSE.

Last month, the Psychiatric Nurses Association published a damning report claiming services are in “freefall” due to staff shortages, but as yet the 100 positions have not been allocated.

According to the HSE, “national and regional management” are currently reviewing the areas of greatest need with a view to “allocating posts across the system”.
